The year is 1883. A unique collection of five hundred drawings is about to be auctioned off into private hands. To prevent this, a group of Amsterdam art lovers bands together, acquires the collection for the Rijksmuseum and unwittingly starts the first ever art crowdfunding platform. Today, our 17.000+ members have since helped over 125 museums in the Netherlands acquire iconic works of art, for everyone to enjoy.
