The bigger picture
To engender appreciation for public art collections, the Rembrandt Association devotes itself to more than 'just' co-funding art acquisitions.
Research
Public art collections are entrusted to us, as nature is. The more we know about them, the more deeply we understand how miraculous they are. This notion of deeper understanding is our main driver for supporting research projects. Special grants giving young art historians the chance to further their skills and expertise as a museum professional. Since 2012, the Rembrandt Association has funded numerous research projects.

- The aim of the study is to find connections between important events in the life of the drawings and their current condition. This study is part of a larger study of Rembrandt drawings carried out by the Netherlands Institute for Conservation, Art and Science (NICAS), entitled Drawing Out Rembrandt. With this research, conservators, conservators, and scientists are trying to gain a better understanding of the original appearance of these drawings and to be able to predict how the drawings may change in the future.

Social impact
Organising special exhibitions, running national art promotion campaigns, supporting unique museum projects... the Association takes on all of these challenges in order to keep making a real social impact. Enriching people's lives by bringing them closer to art, keeping art's purpose alive and kicking.
